WHAT’S WITH THE NAME?
The name Mars Hill comes from the Book of Acts. In chapter 17, Paul began speaking to the Romans while standing on Mars Hill (sometimes called the Areopagus), declaring to everyone that, regardless of race, background, education or economic status, all men were made by God of one blood.
Later, in the book of Revelations, the Bible says people from all nations, tribes and tongues will worship together around the throne of God. Mars Hill believes that it should be "on earth as it is in heaven" - a place where people from every nation, tribe and tongue can joyfully worship together.
